Enrollment Procedure
Montessori de Santa Cruz Charter School and Montessori de Santa Cruz
Preschool admit students of any race, color, national and Ethnic
origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities
generally accorded or made available to students at these schools.
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and
ethnic origin in administration of our educational policies,
admissions policies, scholarship programs or any other
school-administered programs.
Preschool
–
Enrollment in the tuition-based preschool is on a first-come,
first-served basis. The child’s parent or guardian must complete an
enrollment application, emergency (blue) card and tuition contract.
These forms will be accompanied by a nonrefundable $50.00 enrollment
fee and a tuition deposit of $100.00, to be applied to the last
month’s tuition. A limited number of scholarships will be
available. The number and scope of these scholarships will depend
on the availability of funds. Scholarship applications are
available at the school office. The $50.00 enrollment fee must
accompany the scholarship application.
New Kindergarten thru 6th grade
Students –
To
enroll in the charter program at Montessori de Santa Cruz, the
child’s parent, guardian or an individual authorized in writing by
the parent or guardian, must complete an enrollment application and
emergency (blue) card. If the number of applications received
during the open enrollment period exceed the number of available
spaces, a lottery will be held to determine which students will be
accepted. Students not accommodated during open enrollment will be
placed on a waiting list. As space becomes available, additional
lotteries will be held to determine the next child accepted.
Families will be notified by mail and/or telephone regarding
acceptance of the student into the charter school.

The
student’s parent is responsible for a tuition deposit of $150.00
each academic year. ($100.00 Tuition Deposit, which will be applied
to the last month’s tuition and a $50.00 nonrefundable Enrollment
Fee.) It is understood and agreed that the $50.00 is nonrefundable
in any event and the Tuition Deposit shall be applied to the last
month’s tuition for the academic year or, in the event of
withdrawal, and provided there has been given adequate written
notice as provided herein, to tuition for the last month of
attendance.
The tuition will be
payable on the 14th of each month. In the event of
default of any installment provided for in this contract, the parent
of the student will be charged a late fee. The parent will be
fined $25.00 after the 10th of the month following the
due date, and $25.00 after the 1st of each month
thereafter. The child may not, at the sole discretion of
Montessori de Santa Cruz School be allowed to continue
classes; the undersigned will be responsible for all attorney’s fees
and the reasonable cost of collection for any outstanding amounts
due under this contract.
Refund Policy
It
is the policy of Montessori de Santa Cruz Preschool to refund only
the last month of tuition received as a deposit. In the event of
leaving our school, this will be applied to the last month’s tuition
that is due. The enrollment fee is non-refundable as is the monthly
tuition due on the first of each month.
